Our aim is to provide financial relief and assistance to people in the UK who cannot afford a memorial headstone or plaque for their stillborn baby, born after 24 weeks of gestation by providing funding towards the costs of a memorial headstone or plaque; and to relieve the mental and emotional distress of newly bereaved mothers by the provision of memory bears, in particular but not exclusively those in Hereford Hospital’s labour ward and raising awareness of the impact of pregnancy and baby loss with a view to bringing comfort to bereaved parents and their families after the loss of a baby. We also offer support and equipment for Hereford Hospitals labour ward.
A headstone is the last practical act a parent can do for their angel child and we want to help those who would struggle to fulfil this. After all it is a parent’s instinct to protect their child and a grieving parent’s instinct to protect their child’s memory.
How you can give to Rocky Lee’s Fund
Get involved
We are always looking for people to join our board of Trustee’s and Fundraising Committee. Perhaps you’d like to be part of our Charity but don’t live local? No problem you can become part of our team and represent us in your area.
Are you able to volunteer any of your precious time to maybe help out at a fundraising event? Or maybe you want to host an event yourself or have a skill which you think may help us raise money and awareness? Maybe you have a venue which you could offer for an event?
If you have an idea for a fundraiser that you think we should do, or if you want to host a fundraiser for us but need help to put it together or want marketing material from us, sponsor forms or other paraphernalia, we are only to happy to help.
Project 1
Our comfort bear dedication is up and running and donations are coming in thick and fast. We have purchased 40 bears and have taken some of these to Hereford Hospital for their bereaved mothers. These are bears dedicated in memory of Rocky-Lee; the charity we are working with is Aching Arms UK.
A £5 donation will enable us to purchase and deliver a bear to the Hospital.
Events
We are currently hard at work trying to put some local events together for the year.
If you would like to host an event you do not need to be local we will provide you with full support. Maybe you want to hold a quiz night in your local pub, a fancy dress day at work, a disco, a carboot, a cake bake etc OR perhaps you fancy a sponsored challenge such as a run, walk, diet or silence.
